In a 1994 Journal AMA study found only
42% of eartubes were appropriate. In 1997 The British Medical Journal
concluded that the use of anti-microbiotics for Otitis Media for short or
long term outcomes is unproven. Over 80% of the children with Otitis Media
respond to a placebo within 48 hours.
